Hey, Arrowheads! Please don’t come at me in an angry mob when I get to the nitty-gritty details of this post, but I’ve got some things I want to share with y’all concerning the release of the final book in my Christian Young Adult Romance trilogy.

As some of you may remember, a little over two years passed between the release of book one, The Crush, and book two, The Fall. I was hoping that I wouldn’t take quite as long to release book three, The Dream, but, to be honest, it may take me that long.

My Plans for 2023

Since our first year of marriage involved me releasing two books within a year for the first time ever, I want to focus more on married life, and more personal goals, next year rather than dedicating so much time to authorship. What have I got in mind?

Well, earlier this year, my husband and I bought a building for our backyard that we’re going to share as a combo workshop and library/writing office. We’re both really excited for its completion, though there is still a ways to go in getting everything set up. Right now, Josh is working on building a storage area above my office (it’s a closed-in room) along with his daddy and brother, and it’s looking great so far.

I also have a few, smaller projects I haven’t had a chance to work on yet due to releasing The Fall earlier this month. One, that I’m most excited about, is repainting a small bookshelf my daddy made me so we can put it in our living room to store DVDs, video game cases, home decor, etc. When it was in my room at my parents’ house growing up, it was a very bright turquoise (which I loved!), but it’s in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. I decided on a medium gray for it, which I think will suit our living room a lot better than the turquoise. 😛

We also have some big events, and plans, coming up for our family. My sister is getting married in spring 2024, and I’m the maid of honor, so there will be some wedding responsibilities I will need to handle in the upcoming year. Josh and I have also discussed expanding our family, so, Lord willing, that could also mean a huge life event on the horizon.

Am I Taking a Complete Hiatus from Authorship?

Nope! 🙂 In the meantime, though I don’t intend to publish it next year, I plan on self-editing The Dream throughout the first several months of 2023, and (maybe, if it’s ready) booking my editor for the real-deal edits in late 2023/early 2024, if she’s available. I also intend on finishing my current WIP, On the Flip Side, and maybe even start on my next project, Lord willing.

My Plans for The Dream‘s Release

And now, for the part you’ve all been waiting for amid my rambling… when do I plan on releasing The Dream?

My ideal plan–if everything goes well–would be releasing The Dream in the summer of 2024, after my sister’s wedding. But, I also know that life can throw us curve balls, so I’m not setting a specific release date in stone.

Realistically, knowing how much anxiety my own wedding planning gave me last year, and knowing how much anxiety I have about future plans, it may be Fall 2024 or later before The Dream is released.

I will say, though, that when I read through the first draft of The Dream a couple weeks ago, I didn’t hate it. I don’t think it’ll need a major overhaul like The Fall did, so it may be an easier edit, and may result in a faster release.

We’ll just have to see what God has planned. ❤
