Welcome to my WIP page! Take a peek below to find out what I’m writing now!
The Crush (The Ballad of Emery Brooks, #1):
Never settle for anything less.
A combination hopeless romantic and old soul trapped in a teenager’s body, closet musician Emery Brooks wonders if she’ll ever find a love as timeless as her grandparents’. Fear of judgment and social alienation due to her older brother’s past mistakes render her incapable of writing a love song. Still, Emery holds fast to the ideals her Grandma Adeline instilled in her from a young age, vowing to allow God to handwrite her love story, to never settle for anything less.
That is, until love cynic Sawyer Alston enters her world. Broken by the wrath of his parents’ failed marriage, Sawyer has been uprooted from everything he’s ever known and now sees love as a void of empty promises. When Emery and Sawyer meet due to their mothers’ rekindled friendship, Emery soon realizes she’s in over her head.
For, despite her resistance, her first crush, her first glimpse at love, involves a boy who doesn’t believe in love at all.
Completed on June 24, 2019 | Currently Editing | Anticipated Release Date: October 24, 2020
The Fall (The Ballad of Emery Brooks, #2):
Sequel to The Crush, The Fall follows Emery’s journey of pursuing her hearts greatest desires despite her world flipping on its head during The Crush. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that right now. 😅
Completed on February 22, 2020 | Not Yet Edited | Release Date To Be Determined
The Dream (The Ballad of Emery Brooks, #3):
My current WIP, The Dream is the conclusion to The Ballad of Emery Brooks trilogy.
On the Flip Side:
Currently in its first few chapters, On the Flip Side focuses on twin sisters who are BFFs turned enemies all thanks to a manipulative relationship. With college soon approaching, it seems like they’ll never reconcile. When is it due out? Probably in the next couple years… it’s not too far along!
Tales of an Awkward Turtle:
Just a concept at the moment, Tales of an Awkward Turtle is a spin-off novel of Speak Your Mind, based on the main male character’s awkward older brother, Brandon. Though I haven’t even written the first chapter, I’ve been brainstorming for over a year, and I plan to include this adorable little snippet: The Journal.
Due to the way little Zeeb warmed his way into my heart while I was writing Speak Your Mind, I’ve greatly considered giving him his own novel. I’ll be working off his backstory, and it will hopefully include appearances by his Grahamwood Junior High pals. Like Tales of an Awkward Turtle, this novel is still a concept at the moment.
Follow the Arrows:
Being a bowler’s girlfriend, Follow the Arrows is my brainchild of a bowling-themed YA novel featuring light romance with an emphasis on friendship. It’s still a concept at the moment, but I’ve been itching to write it for over a year. Check out my flash fiction story, 300, for an inkling of what this novel may be like.
