Random Musing: Top 10 Favorite Disney Movies

Welcome back on this lovely Monday, Arrowheads! Today’s random musing post is a ranking of my top-ten favorite Walt Disney Animated Classics. Be prepared for some Disnerdiness.

**Note: This does not include Disney-Pixar films. That’s an entirely different category altogether. I take my Disnerd status seriously (though that will most likely end up as a future post). Oh yeah, and Frozen will NEVER be featured. The toddlers have ruined it. XD

10. Winnie the Pooh

Is it cheating if I combine the two Winnie the Pooh movies as one ranking? I love both of them equally. Pooh Bear is a hilarious little foodie, and his awkwardness gives me hope.

9. Tarzan

How could I resist the amazing soundtrack by Phil Collins, the adorable Tantar, the entrancing animation, or Tarzan and Jane’s love story? It’s flawless.

8. Mulan

My second-favorite Disney Princess movie, Mulan, is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies because (yet again) the songs, and Mushu’s hilarious one-liners. Plus, how awesome is it that a girl literally saves China? This is a step-up from other Princess movies.

7. Oliver and Company

Honestly, I feel that Oliver and Company is one of the most underrated Disney movies. Yeah, I know Disney went through a slump in the 1980s, but come on! Billy Joel sang the iconic song, “Why Should I Worry” as Dodger, making me fall in love with Disney soundtracks from a young age. Oh yeah, and then there’s my OTP of the Chihuahua and the Poodle. XD

6. Wreck-It Ralph

This is one of the most entertaining films Disney has released in recent years. The plot-twist we discover about King Candy makes this movie unforgettable. That, added to the incorporation of fan-favorite video game characters and the unique, lovable characters added by Disney, I could watch this movie over and over again and never get bored. In fact, I kinda have. 🙂

5. Tangled

I know, I know. I just got through saying that Mulan was epic because the Princess saves China. Well, essentially, Rapunzel saves Flynn Rider at the end. Plus, THIS IS MY FAVORITE DISNEY PRINCESS OTP. 😀 Gah, I love them. And for the record, Tangled is infinitely better than Frozen!

4. Sword in the Stone

Again, this is another vastly underrated Disney classic. Why do I love Sword in the Stone, you may ask? Three words: The. Squirrel. Scene. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, hit up YouTube right now. This is possibly the funniest scene in any Disney movie to date. Well, at least it is to me. I’m laughing just thinking about it. XD

3. The Rescuer’s Down Under

Though I’m not a big fan of The Rescuers, I am head-over-heels for the sequel. I’m like 99.9% sure this is where my love for Australia developed. That, and Joanna the Goanna is one of the creepiest/most hilarious characters Disney has ever created. If you still have YouTube pulled up, look that up, too.

2. Lilo and Stitch

Gah, I love this movie soooo much! ❤ Stitch is one of my all-time favorite Disney characters, based on his skills with flirting with the elderly, and the fact that “he used to be a Collie before he got ran over”. This film is full of hilarious, dark-humored lines that will keep you laughing throughout the entire movie. Plus, how adorable is Stitch?!

And, my all-time favorite Walt Disney Animated Classic is…

Robin Hood!

Is it weird to say that I had a crush on an animated fox when I was a child? XD But, that’s besides the point. Robin Hood is a class-act hero. He’s an archery wizard, he’s romantic, he’s chivalrous and generous. I believe this film encompasses everything Disney stands for, despite the fact that Walt Disney passed away before the release of this movie. Overall, it’s hard to beat out as my favorite!

Honorable Mentions

There were also some honorable mentions that did not fall into my Top 10, though I still love them to pieces:

  • The AristocatsMain reason: The hound dogs. “Where’s my beddy-bye basket?!” XD
  • Big Hero 6Main reason: WHY, Tadashi? 😦
  • Emperor’s New GrooveMain reason: David Spade XD

Thanks for spending some time here at Authoring Arrowheads this afternoon! Come back and visit on Wednesday and Friday for more fun posts!

Also, my debut novel is now available on Amazon, if you’d like to check it out! 🙂
