Sooo… here’s another modern-day-Allyson poem. I think my love poems have improved substantially now that I know what true love is like!

Read Between the Lines

In every word I speak to you,

You must read between the lines.

For I am forever speaking unspoken things,

Things you need to keep close to mind.

Every night when you’re to travel home,

And I remind you to drive safe,

I’m silently screaming,

“I don’t want you to get hurt in any way”.

In every message delivered to you,

You must read between the lines.

For I am forever writing unheard things,

Things you’ll understand in time.

Every night when we’re drifting off,

And you read, “I’m praying for you”,

I’m wistfully thinking,

“You’re my favorite blessing, and I love you.”

So read between the lines, my dear,

If you’d really like to hear me.

Maybe then you’ll understand

Just how much I enjoy our story.
