Welcome back to another movie review by yours truly! Today, I’d like to recommend a Christian movie my boyfriend and I watched on Netflix the other night: The Case for Christ.
Review: The Case for Christ (2017)
For those of you who don’t know (I didn’t know at first), The Case for Christ is based on the story of former atheist, Lee Strobel, who wrote the book of the same title. The movie follows the path Strobel takes to attempt to prove to his wife–a new follower of Christ–that Christianity is a false religion. Similar in nature to God’s Not Dead, (if it was set in the early 1980s), Strobel eventually finds it harder and harder to disprove the merit of Jesus, His death, and the resurrection. The real-life Strobel also made an appearance in God’s Not Dead 2 in the courtroom scene, attesting the evidence he found to support the reality of Christ.
Overall, both my boyfriend and I found The Case for Christ to be both an interesting and informative film. The added drama caused by relationship strains between Strobel and his wife, and his father, made his final conversion all the more relatable on a personal level.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars.
What are some of your favorite Christian movies? I’d love to expand my watch list!
