Mind of Darkness Blog Tour: Book Review

Woo, have I got a good one for y’all today! My good friend, Jes Drew, is currently holding a blog tour for her newest release, Mind of Darknessthe first in The Dystopian Takeover series which combines the worlds of her The Ninja and Hunter and Castaways series. I recently got the opportunity to read and review Mind of Darkness, and am beyond excited to read more about some of my favorite characters! So, without further delay, let’s take a look at Mind of Darkness!

Emily Rogers is ready for a summer that doesn’t involve being cast away on islands or being chased around the globe. So when she’s invited to an elite pre-college class along with her boyfriend, she jumps at the chance. But things are not all they seem at the Yin Program. Students are disappearing, and someone seems to be toying with their minds…

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Charsia O’Dell is anticipating a summer of romance and adventure with her crime-fighting partner. But she never expects that they’ll be kidnapped and taken to an underground bunker to be guinea pigs to a mad scientist named Jin Yin. Most shocking of all, she learns that they are not the only super humans in the world…

Somehow, Emily and Charisa have to break out of the prisons imposed upon them to decipher the conspiracy before their minds are enslaved by the darkness within…

Review of Mind of Darkness

Oh my gracious y’all…

I liked the The Ninja and Hunter series, and loved the Castaways trilogy… and absolutely ADORE seeing Charisa and Emily’s worlds collide in Mind of Darkness due to the Yin program.

What’s To Like? EVERYTHING.

Lots of fangirling if Emily and Christopher are your OTP! ❤ (And also a lot of “Ah! What are you doing to him?!” moments, but I won’t spoil as to why. 😉 )

Lots of fangirling if Chrissie and Kyle are your OTP (and lots of hilarious banter from Kyle)!

Quirky and Lovable New Characters

Though there is quite a large cast of characters, it is easy for the reader to tell the difference between them all, as they each have unique and memorable personalities that will make you crave their next appearance.

This is a super fast-paced dystopian adventure novel that will leave you wanting to read more after each chapter. There’s never a dull moment with this crowd!

I need to go jump on Wattpad and read Book Two now! 😀

Rating: 5 out of 5.
