Surprise! It’s a Christmas miracle! You thought Friday book reviews were gone, didn’t you? 😉
Well, technically they are, but I couldn’t resist posting a book review for a Christmas-themed romance I read last year by one of my favorite clean romance authors, Jenny B. Jones.

Are you in need of a cozy Christmas rom-com with more substance (and less cheese) than what made-for-TV movies offer? Look no further than this 2018 release by Jenny B. Jones, His Mistletoe Miracle.
What I Loved
The Characters
Both Cordelia and Will leapt from the pages! I could easily relate to Will’s struggle of facing writer’s block, and emphasized with Cordelia’s dilemma of choosing whether to quit her office job to pursue her dream career. Plus, they were both beyond adorable together! ❤
Cordelia’s Dreams
The subplot about Cordelia questioning whether or not to make a bold step in pursuing her dreams really inspired me at this point in my life. My favorite quote was, “It wasn’t easy and I sacrificed a lot, but there’s nothing like operating in the flow of the divine—that high of doing what you love.”
Better Than Hallmark
Those of you who follow my reviews know I’m burned out on watching Hallmark movies (thanks, Momma). Though this book has the initial feel of a typical Hallmark Christmas movie, it’s so. much. better. For one thing, the book has substance; not just fluff and Santa stuff. Real, tough issues such as foster care and terrorist attacks are dealt with. It’s actually reminiscent of the good movies Hallmark used to make, like my favorite, The Christmas Card.
Overall
I did notice some proofreading errors, as some names got messed up, one being a main character’s last name (Sinclair > Sullivan), but otherwise it’s full of Jones’ southern sass and charm. This is the perfect Christmas read and can be read as a standalone despite it being apart of the Sugar Creek series!
