New Release Date for The Dream + No Blog Post This Week

Good afternoon Arrowheads,

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen the announcement I made on Monday, but I wanted to make sure to post the news here as well.

After much consideration, I’ve made the decision to push out The Dream’s release date an additional month, to December 2nd.

Why have I made this call?

I did not anticipate how busy my husband and I would be in October, and over the past few weeks I’ve been worrying if I’ll have enough time to get The Dream ready for ARC readers, which I had hoped to get out by the first week of October.

Right now, with all I’ve got going on, I don’t anticipate having enough time to get the ARCs out by then. Because of that, and having 3/4 weekends in October booked up with personal events, I figured it would be in The Dream’s best interest if I postpone the release until December 2nd.

If you’re on my ARC team, hopefully the ARC copies will be ready by mid-October. I apologize for the delay, but I want you to have the best version of the book in your hands when I send those out, as well as ample time to read the book without feeling rushed.

Thank you for your continued support. Y’all rock. ❤

So… about this week’s planned blog post…

Like last week, I didn’t write the one I intended to post, so, unfortunately, it’s not going up. Yet. Hopefully, I’ll write and post both of the ones I’ve moved to my drafts in the future.

For full transparency, I’ve been struggling more and more spiritually over the past several weeks due to some unanswered prayers over non-writing things (it goes a lot deeper than that, but for privacy’s sake I won’t go into all the details), and earlier this week I was frustrated over having to delay The Dream‘s release (among other indie publishing things I’ve been stressed about) and had a meltdown, contemplating if continuing to publish after The Dream is even worth it. Getting a blog post up was the last thing on my mind at that point.

But over the past few days, I’ve been going back through Writing by Faith and doing the reflection questions to see if the idea of quitting is something God is leading me to do, or if it was Satan preying on my insecurities. Now that I’m almost on the other side of it, it’s becoming more clear to me that the devil was kicking me when I was down and I’m determined to press on and continue publishing, ever how slowly it may be.

All that being said, I should definitely be back next week with another blog post, as the one I’ve got planned doesn’t take a lot of planning or brainpower to write. XD Sad, but true.

Anyway, I hope you have a great rest of your week, and I’ll catch you next Wednesday!

Aim high, stay strong, and always hit your mark.

-Allyson 😀

As an author and blogger, my goal is to teach writers that there is a way to write realistic, thought-provoking, redemptive Christian fiction that honors God while not sugarcoating the realities of the world.
