As an author and blogger, my goal is to teach writers that there is a way to write realistic, thought-provoking, redemptive Christian fiction that honors God while not sugarcoating the realities of the world.
There have been days throughout the past four years when I honestly never thought this season would come. Right after publishing The Crush in 2020, I contemplated giving up on being an indie author entirely. One of the only things that kept me going was the fact that I’d made a commitment to finish writing and publishing the second and third books of The Ballad of Emery Brooks trilogy, and I was going to stay true to my word and release them. Now that The Fall and The Dream are (almost) both out in the world, it’s time to say goodbye to a group of characters that will forever hold a special place in my heart.
It wasn’t until I started rereading all of the books in The Ballad of Emery Brooks trilogy in preparation for The Dream’s release that I realized just how many Bible events relate to Emery’s journey. Here are some of the stories that came to mind during my rereads!

Good afternoon, Arrowheads! Three years ago today, at a barn venue in the backwoods of eastern North Carolina, I married the man of my dreams, the man who God handpicked for me. Since today is our anniversary, there won’t be an official blog post here on Authoring Arrowheads. Instead, I’m taking the week off to […]
I don’t know about y’all, but I love a good book that realistically portrays narcissism. Not because I like narcissism, but because I love seeing it portrayed in a fictitious manner so that readers may recognize narcissistic traits in characters and then realize how toxic those traits are so that they don’t become victims of narcissists themselves. In this week’s post, I’ll be covering a few bookish examples of narcissists and why I think they are perfect portrayals of narcissism.
Good afternoon Arrowheads, If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen the announcement I made on Monday, but I wanted to make sure to post the news here as well. After much consideration, I’ve made the decision to push out The Dream’s release date an additional month, to December 2nd. Why have […]
