Though it’s been a little bit since I last updated y’all on the editing progress for my next intended release, On the Flip Side, the book is still well on its way to becoming a published work. Keep reading to learn how I’ve worked on the manuscript since the last update.
I’m getting excited, y’all! Since my last update, I not only finished the first round of edits for my next intended release, On the Flip Side, but have also started the next round. More to come on that in a second!
The time has come for the first official round of implementing edits for my next intended release, On the Flip Side! While I do not yet have a publication date in mind, I enjoyed reading the first draft for the second time throughout June and July and am currently working through the editing notes I made during this read-through. Here’s where I’m at with the book so far!
In mid-March, I decided to crack open On the Flip Side for its first full read-through after finishing the first draft in September 2023. Here’s how it went!
The last time I gave y’all an update on my current WIP, On the Flip Side, I was feeling down in the dumps about my lack of progress in finishing the book. As you may recall, in December 2022, I began rewriting the manuscript from Chapter One after re-outlining. While I was happy with my new outline, I felt like I would never finish the book, especially since I was ten months into writing it at that point.
But then, in the eleventh month, God helped me get back on track. Keep reading for a complete opposite tale of what I reported in my last WIP Update!
On the Flip Side is a contemporary Christian young adult standalone novel that follows the dual POVs of twin sisters, Kennedy and Katie Oliver, as one sister is trapped in a toxic relationship with a narcissist. Since On the Flip Side is the first novel I’ve written from a dual POV, writing this book has been both a fun and difficult learning experience. If you’re new to writing dual POVs, I pray these lessons I’ve learned can help you better narrate your own WIP from two or more perspectives
*Heavy sigh* Well, here we are again, my friends. Another “update” for my current WIP, On the Flip Side where I attempt a reasonable explanation as to why I haven’t finished writing it yet.
