2018: The Game Plan

On Sunday, we said goodbye to 2017. Though the year certainly brought hardships and suffering worldwide, it was a pretty decent year for me. First, I finally completed the #1 item on my bucket list in February: publishing my first novel. In April came my boyfriend and mine’s first dating anniversary, and as of last month we’ve been together a year and 8 months! Also in April, I started my first Big Girl Job, and in May I graduated from college. My boyfriend and I joined a doubles bowling league in September, and thanks to the ball he gave me for Christmas, (a pink/purple Tropical Breeze from Storm, if you’re wondering. It smells like birthday cake! 😆) I shot a 156–my highest game yet–on December 31st! Needless to say, I’m pretty happy with how last year turned out… but I know God has better things ahead!

So, have I made any New Year Resolutions? I have, though I don’t know how many I’ll keep:

  • Read at least 10 books
  • Finish my middle grade WIP, Speak Your Mind
  • Possibly get a new cover for Can’t Beat the Heart of a Carolina Girl
  • Publish Speak Your Mind by November 2018
  • Become a better bowler (120 to 150 average? Maybe?!)
  • Lose weight

So yeah… I’m dreaming ambitiously here. Not sure what–if any–of these I’ll get done, but I pray it’s all of them and then some!

What are your New Year Resolutions? Let me know in the comments!

As an author and blogger, my goal is to teach writers that there is a way to write realistic, thought-provoking, redemptive Christian fiction that honors God while not sugarcoating the realities of the world.
