Poem: We Get What We…

Good afternoon lovely Arrowheads! It’s been a while since I’ve shared a poem with y’all, so here’s one I wrote a few weeks back!

We Get What We…

WeGetWhatWe

We get what we give.
Either praise of condemnation,
Lies or false accusations,
Or spoils of love.

We get what we ask for,
The desires of our hearts.
Some exhilarating, others dark
Enough to wish them away.

We get what we pray for
Whether now or later.
God makes people waiters
Until He sees its time.

The World asks, “what would you like to get?”
But the question should change:
“Who would you like to be in Him?”
Instead of seeking to get, let’s rearrange.

As an author and blogger, my goal is to teach writers that there is a way to write realistic, thought-provoking, redemptive Christian fiction that honors God while not sugarcoating the realities of the world.
