Good afternoon, Arrowheads! If you’re like me, you’re ready for this summer heat to simmer down and for fall and winter to make a reappearance. For all of you cold weather lovers out there, I’ve got a surprise in store for you today! Author Amanda Tero’s newest short story “Finding Christmas Joy”, to be released on July 31st, is all about finding true Christmas joy in Christ, and I have the honor of reviewing it today as apart of her blog tour. So, sit back and grab some hot chocolate, cookies, and a blanket (and maybe set the AC to fifty degrees… kidding! XD ) and let’s get started!

Short Story Review: “Finding Christmas Joy” by Amanda Tero

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, so when the opportunity came to be apart of Amanda Tero’s blog tour for her new Christmas short story, I couldn’t turn it down! Who cares if it’s July… the Christmas cheer brought through the birth of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice should stay with us throughout the year!

Amanda Tero has accurately captured the characterization for a newly single girl going through sudden heartbreak. The feelings were spot-on how I felt going through a dating breakup years ago, and I’m sure other girls can relate as well. The overall message of the story is that we can’t find true peace/happiness/every day Christmas cheer from earthly circumstances or human relationships, but only through accepting Christ’s gift for us on the cross. This story is a lovely and heartwarming contrast from modern Christmas movies/stories that center on receiving material things rather than on the true meaning of Christmas. I highly recommend it if you’re craving a Christmas story in this summer heat! 🙂
