Authors of Clean YA You Should Check Out

Are you a fan of Young Adult fiction, but struggle to find good books that qualify for a PG rating? If you are, then you’ve hopped onto the right blog! As an author of clean, contemporary YA, I’m also an avid reader of the genre. Below is a list of authors I recommend who write clean, YA fiction. I’ve read each of these authors personally, and each book that has been recommended to the side of the author’s name has been vetted and is considered clean by my standards, as noted below.

NOTE: When I say clean, it’s something similar to A Cinderella Story or iCarly content-wise. I am a little more accepting of some things than others. Examples of content that I consider “unclean” for YA include: Major cuss words spelled out (I don’t consider crap, darn, heck, etc. to be cuss words), and descriptive sexual content and/or references (except kissing).

As an author and blogger, my goal is to teach writers that there is a way to write realistic, thought-provoking, redemptive Christian fiction that honors God while not sugarcoating the realities of the world.

  1. Good idea to provide clean recommendations – and I’m touched that my books made your list 🙂
To readers, I’d also suggest :
Speak Your Mind by you (so much to glean!),
See You Monday by Kristen Terrette,
soon-to-be released A Shadow on the Snow by JPC Allen,
The Hired Girl by Laura Amy Schlitz (historical fiction),
Pure Hollywood by Leslie Ann McDaniel, and
    Peak by Roland Smith

I look forward to seeing other bloggers’ recs too!
