Poem: Blue Eyes

Welcome back on this wonderful Wednesday, Arrowheads! Why is today so wonderful? Well… the two worst classes I’ve ever had are completely over!!! And if that’s not a reason to celebrate, I don’t know what is!

For such an occasion as this, I’ve decided to share another poem featured in my debut novel, fictionally attributed to Miss Riley Houston.

So, without further ado, here is “Blue Eyes”!

Blue Eyes

BlueEyes

Behind your blue eyes, I can see what we could be.

Behind your blue eyes, I can tell you want to be with me.

But what will others think?

They see no connection between you and me.

They just don’t know us.

Behind your blue eyes, I can tell you’re afraid.

You want us to be together, but what will others say?

And behind my blue eyes, I feel your pain.

There’s nothing we can do and all I can say,

Is that I love you.

Behind my blue eyes, I don’t want to hide my love for you,

But what others might think is what’s causing me to.

Behind my blue eyes, I hope you see the truth;

The true love, that lies within me.

As an author and blogger, my goal is to teach writers that there is a way to write realistic, thought-provoking, redemptive Christian fiction that honors God while not sugarcoating the realities of the world.
